HBO Max Blacklists ‘Gone With the Wind’ – Americans Make Them Regret It

HBO Max announced on Tuesday they are blacklisting the 1939 classic film “Gone with the Wind,” and with it Hattie McDaniel, who played the part of “Mammy” and was the first African-American to ever win an Academy Award. Well, instantly, Americans really made them regret it. You’ll love this.

The “woke crowd” has really done it now. They have been successful at blacklisting the beloved movie “Gone with the Wind,” which was based on Marget Mitchell’s classic novel. What’s next? Banning any movie that is based on the Civil War and depicts slavery in America?

Whether these woke idiots like it or not, Mitchell wrote her novel for the exact reason they are banning it. The title says it. That time of slavery is “Gone with the Wind.” It’s no more. The Godly struggle of the Civil War made sure of it. We cannot and should not erase our history.

Just like with the ludicrous “defund the police” movement, the woke mob who is driving this chaos is dangerous to America and Americans.

This radical movement is also erasing the first African-American to win an Academy Award.

“McDaniel was not only the first black actor or actress to win an Oscar, she was the first black person ever to win an Oscar of any kind, and the first black person to even be nominated,” Breitbart reports. “Other than Merle Oberon, who was both Asian and Polynesian, McDaniel was the first racial minority ever nominated for any category.”

“The Woke Taliban are literally toppling statues, literally rewriting history, literally creating their own caliphate, literally renaming streets, literally forcing people to their knees, so of course the destruction and desecration of art is part and parcel,” Breitbart adds.

However, not only are they blacklisting the 1939 classic, they are going to tell you how to think about it “when they return it.”

“‘Gone With The Wind’ is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society. These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible,” an HBO Max spokesperson told Variety.

“These depictions are certainly counter to WarnerMedia’s values, so when we return the film to HBO Max, it will return with a  discussion of its historical context and a denouncement of those very depictions, but will be presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. If we are to create a more just, equitable and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history.”

George Orwell wrote in his novel 1984: “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

So “Gone With the Wind” will return after it’s been vandalized with a filmed introduction of the “correct” people instructing us on how to “correctly” view, experience, and interpret this piece of art.

The backlash by Americans who are sick and tired of the “woke crowd” was immediate.

Americans rushed to buy the movie, and it was the number one bestselling film on Amazon early Wednesday morning, even though both DVDs and Blu-ray discs were sold out.

What this says to those radicals is We the People are not on board with this craziness, and we will preserve this film ourselves. We will preserve our American culture, and we will fight you tooth and nail. They have woken the sleeping giant, and it’s not the type of “wokeness” they are going to like.

Other Americans sounded off on social media.

“Born today in 1893: Hattie McDaniel, the first black actress to win an Academy Award for her role in Gone With the Wind. HBO removed her award-winning movie on what would have been her 127th birthday,” tweeted Rep. Paul Gosar.

“HBO removing Gone With The Wind is just another part of the left’s sinister plot to erase American culture. Did you know—the first black American to win an Oscar was Hattie McDaniel for her role in Gone With The Wind? But the left doesn’t care. They just want to see it all burn,” tweeted Charlie Kirk.

“This is getting insane. – Cops has been canceled. – Live PD has been pulled. – Gone With The Wind removed from HBO. – Building in UK being renamed. – Statues are being removed. This is starting to remind of the Nazi book burnings. What’s going on???” tweeted Peter Sweden.

“As HBO pulls ‘Gone with the Wind,’ I’m reminded of what @sullydish recently said — we’re all experiencing the college campus now. The insatiable outrage, the insufferable wokeness, and the wretched belief that America is evil. If nothing else, maybe parents will think twice,” tweeted Erielle Davidson.

“Tonight I cancelled my HBO subscription. Not because I was particularly fond of Gone With the Wind. But because I am alarmed & outraged by the hysteria & censorship gripping the nation. Join me in removing your support from those businesses who are contributing to the chaos,” tweeted Bryan Deam Wright, former CIA officer.

When HBO Max says the movie will be “presented as it was originally created,” that’s a lie. It now will be presented with a tutorial telling you how to feel (guilt, shame, anger) about what you’re about to watch. And you won’t be able to fast-forward through their diatribe.

“Gone with the Wind” is a masterpiece. You don’t take a piece of art like a Da Vinci off the museum wall and instruct people how to think about it. This is just the beginning of this nonsense, but we already know how this will end. The “woke crowd” will lose this war, big time.
