Minneapolis City Tells Residents To ‘Obey Criminals,’ No More Police Protection

Rep. Ilhan Omar must be proud of her city council that defunded the police department. Now that they have no real police presence out on the streets to respond to crime, the Democrat-run city council issued the craziest announcement ever. Don’t miss this.

The Minneapolis city council in conjunction with what is left of the Minneapolis Police Department issued an announcement that is advising residents of the city to “Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet” if approached by robbers, and “Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say.”

We can’t make this stuff up, folks. Welcome to the Democrat utopia.

Minneapolis Alpha News reporter Kyle Hooten posted to Twitter: “Minneapolis City Government tells residents to be ready to give up their phones and wallets and to always cooperate with criminals.”

“The ‘robbery prevention tips’ were circulated by the department and reported by local ABC affiliate KSTP-5. They advise that the city is suffering an increase in robberies and carjackings, especially in the 3rd Precinct — the area of the city in which George Floyd was killed in police custody on Memorial Day, and rioters destroyed police headquarters,” Breitbart reports.

Others also posted the tips on social media:

“Look another email on how to be a perfect victim in #MplsCrime just came out, but wait @MayorFrey says Minneapolis is a safe vibrant place,” tweeted “Hennepin County Police & Fire Monitoring.”

Other cities have reported dramatic increases in crime, including shootings and murders, after the Black Lives Matter protests and riots erupted.

One Minneapolis resident who refused to give in without a fight was 99-year-old Evelyn Johnson, who fought with an intruder: “He thought he was just going to cover my mouth and smother me, but that didn’t happen. I fought him. We wrestled for quite a while, according to all my bruises,” she told KSTP.

The Democrat-dominated Minneapolis City Council unanimously approved a resolution in June to abolish the police department — much to the chagrin of local leaders in the black community, who spoke out against the plan in July.

The local Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that local black leaders had called the plan to abolish or defund the police “Egregious, grotesque, absurd, crazy, ridiculous.”

“Backing irrational and irresponsible calls — some coming from criminals — to ‘defund the police’ is having very predictable results. Crime is up in many American cities — theft and robberies, violence, murder — with no end in sight. In fact, it’s going to get worse as most cities have not yet actually defunded their police,” PJ Media reports.

What we’re seeing now in most places is just the beginning, with criminals emboldened by the possibility of defunding police.

“Wait until the real defunding begins,” PJ Media added.

Olivia Arnold is just one of the thousands of drivers who had their car stolen this year in Minneapolis.

Her boyfriend was using it to deliver food two weeks ago near 1st Avenue and east 18th Street.

In the 10 seconds he stepped out to hand over the customer’s order a thief jumped into the driver seat and took off.

“You think ‘Oh this is just my side gig doing deliveries.’ You don’t really think anything of it. You don’t think that you’re going to be put in danger because of something like that,” Arnold said.

Being victimized led her to seek more information through social media groups like the Uptown Crime Facebook page.

“That’s kind of where I realized this has been happening a lot lately,” she said.

They’re lucky he wasn’t shot or stabbed. He merely lost his means of making a living during the worst economy in nearly a century. Insurance will pay for that and perhaps for the therapy that he’ll need to treat PTSD.

Minneapolis gave itself over to the radical mob, under pressure from far-left activists, criminals, Hollywood, and the media. Most large cities have done the same, or soon will.

They did this despite the fact that a majority of Americans of all backgrounds never supported defunding police and that defunding would lead to very predictable and terrible results.

This is an election year. If the Democrats win in November, we can expect this type of mayhem coming to a city near us as soon as they take their oath of office. The stakes are that high. Make sure all your family and friends are aware that this “defund the police” movement is real and that’s why we must vote for the GOP and re-elect President Trump.
