The Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi are using the coronavirus to attack President Trump for political purposes. As we have all seen in the past, Pelosi and her cohorts always coordinate their talking points. This latest accusation claims that Trump is doing nothing and was ill-prepared to handle the pandemic and that Americans are dying.
“We should be taking every precaution,” Pelosi said on CNN. “The president, his denial at the beginning, was deadly. His delaying of getting equipment to where it — his continued delay in getting equipment to where it’s needed is deadly. Now the best thing to do would be to prevent more loss of life rather than open things up because we just don’t know.”
“I don’t know what the scientists said to him, when did this president know about this, and what did he know? What did he know, and when did he know it? That’s for an after-action review. But as the president fiddles, people are dying,” Pelosi claimed.
This accusation echoes the classic criticism of the Roman Emperor Nero, who is said to have “fiddled” as Rome burned during the Great Fire of 59 A.D. The House Speaker’s other line, “what did he know, and when did he know it,” is straight from the impeachment of former President Richard Nixon.
Maxine Waters and Ilhan Omar were both on MSNBC over the weekend making almost identical accusations. Of course, there is no truth to their propaganda.
In fact, it was the president who was forming a coronavirus task force and having meetings, while Pelosi and her cohorts were impeaching Trump, as Cari Kelemen points out: “What was Nancy Pelosi doing while President Trump formed his CoronaVirus Task Force? Trump acted quickly, while Pelosi delayed the coronavirus rescue bill for days.
“Yet the accusation, in Pelosi’s case, is particularly ironic. President Trump has been giving public press conferences during the coronavirus crisis, almost every day. He acted quickly against the virus, creating a Coronavirus Task Force in late January and restricting travel to and from China. The president even sent two U.S. Navy hospital ships to two epicenters of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S.,” PJ Media reports.
“Meanwhile, just last week, Pelosi and her fellow Democrats wasted precious time by blocking a bipartisan relief bill in the Senate while pushing an alternative bill in the House, one packed with their far-left Christmas wish list,” they add.
Nancy Pelosi had claimed that her obstruction was a “jiu-jitsu” to change the bill. GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called this claim an “outright lie.”
“The fundamental portions of this bill have not changed since Sunday,” McCarthy adds. “Four months for unemployment were already decided on Sunday. The grants to keep employees hired on small businesses were already decided on Sunday.”
Only the small pork measures, like Kennedy Center funding, were added due to Pelosi’s stalling.
Americans also made sure Nancy Pelosi knows we aren’t buying what she is selling.

The Democrats are on the record trying to use this pandemic to score political points.
Democrats treated this crisis as an opportunity and wasted precious time in order to push their pet projects. Indeed, House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told lawmakers, “This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” echoing former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who notoriously said, “You never let a serious crisis got to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
President Trump certainly has not been “fiddling” as people die and lose their jobs. In fact, historians have said Trump’s decision to block travel from China will go down as one of the most monumental moments for an American president in saving lives.
If anyone is Nero, it is Nancy Pelosi. It was the Speaker of the House who was “fiddling” with the rescue bill while Americans sat back in lockdown losing their jobs. No amount of propaganda by the Democrats will change the truth, and we expect that truth will come back to haunt them in November.
