Trump & McConnell Get Romney On Board With SCOTUS Vote, Hollywood Freaking Out

Senator Mitt Romney decided he better not betray President Donald Trump this time. Not when it comes to something as important as placing a conservative on the Supreme Court. Poor Mitt possibly got the screws put to him behind the scenes and has announced he is ready to move forward with the vote. That caused the Hollywood Trump-haters to really freak out. The GOP needs 51 votes to confirm Trump’s SCOTUS nominee. Mitt Romney’s announcement was the nail in the Democrats’ coffin.

“I intend to follow the Constitution and precedent in considering the President’s nominee. If the nominee reaches the Senate floor, I intend to vote based upon their qualifications,” the Utah senator said.

Well, it didn’t take long for the left-leaning Vox to do the math.

“Since many Republicans have already fallen in line behind McConnell — including swing state senators such as Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO), Martha McSally (R-AZ) and Joni Ernst (R-IA) — Romney was seen as one of the last potential holdouts whose possible defection could change McConnell’s calculus,” Vox reports.

“Because Republicans have a 53-47 majority and Vice President Mike Pence could serve as a tie-breaking vote if a final count is 50-50, four Republicans would have needed to break with McConnell to prevent the nomination from advancing,” Vox adds.

Senator Cory Gardener announced he was on board on Monday. That gave the GOP 50 votes. Now, with Romney that vote advances to the magic number of 51.

“While what is sure to be a contentious confirmation process lies ahead, it appears McConnell has, at this moment in time, secured a sufficient number of GOP votes to charge ahead,” Breitbart reports.

We can only guess what happened behind the scenes. Trump is hellbent on making history by placing a third conservative justice on the court. This would give the Supreme Court five hardcore conservative justices — we don’t count Chief Justice John Roberts as a conservative anymore — for at least the next 10 to 20 years.

Romney was likely told to fall in line or else. This is too big of a deal to have the Never-Trumper senator start playing games as he did with the impeachment.

It also means the Democrats are out of luck. They can kick and scream and encourage their supporters to cause mayhem and violence, but they have zero power. Their threats are just threats.

The Hollywood crowd is really freaking out.

“Ah, Mitt, we hardly knew ye,” tweeted actress Bette Midler. “Romney stabs Democracy in the back. I thought he would have the courage of a #JohnMcCain, when John cast his vote against the #GreedOverParty PoorHealthCarePlan. I am so, so disappointed in you, Mitt. I actually thought you were better than this.”

“Mitt Romney MUST BE HELD PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE 4 NO HEALTHCARE, END OF SOCIAL SECURITY, END OF ALL REGULATIONS PROTECTING & HER PPL, FOSSIL FUEL 4EVER, FIRES IN CALIFORNIA, CAT, HURRICANES 1-5 NEW ORLEANS, VOTING RIGHTS. REPUBLICANS WILL ReDISTRICT SO A DEMOCRAT WILL NEVER WIN,” tweeted Cher.

“i think now is a good time to tell mitt romney that i have been calling him ‘mittens’ since 2011,” tweeted actress Rachel Zegler, who is starring in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story. “get absolutely OWNED, mittens. i never trusted u.”

“SO STOP HIM GODDAMIT,” tweeted actor Patton Oswalt who was responding to Diane Feinstein’s tweet.

“To those of you expressing surprise at the Romney hypocrisy… where the f*ck have you been???” tweeted actress Ellen Barkin.

“Mitt Romney never fails to disappoint me. #HypocritesGOP,” tweeted comedian Wanda Sykes.

Those Hollywood haters are having a bad day. Elections have consequences, and in 2016, Americans elected a GOP president and a GOP majority Senate.

Nothing they can say will change that. And don’t be fooled. We have no doubt that the Democrats and their radical supporters will cause all kinds of problems for the president’s nominee.

They will be showing their hypocrisy by attacking a woman. They will show their true colors by playing dirty. However, remember they have no power. We the People gave the power to President Trump and made sure he could get SCOTUS nominees through with a GOP Senate majority.

That’s how the Constitution works. So, pop some popcorn and watch as they all have a meltdown. All their fame and fortune means nothing. It’s the “little people,” patriotic Americans in middle America, who voted to ensure our values would be protected by President Trump.
