Atlanta Cops Walk Out In Protest Over Democrat DA’s ‘Sick Secret’ In Brooks Case

Big numbers of Atlanta police officers are calling in “sick,” and many just “walked out” after Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. announced he is charging former Officer Garret Rolfe with felony murder with the possibility of the death penalty in the shooting of Rayshard Brooks. Now, this Democrat DA is also playing politics and hiding a “sick secret” which these cops all know.

District Attorney Paul Howard Jr.’s decision to wrongly charge former Officer Rolfe is heavily influenced by local politics. Howard is up for re-election, but his chances are slim to none. The men and women serving as cops in the Atlanta Police Department are well aware of Howard’s “sick secrets.”

Howard is being investigated for sexual misconduct and for fraud.

The Atlanta DA also just lost a big primary where for the first time he came in second to his challenger. Howard has been the DA since 1997 but is facing multiple charges of sexual misconduct and a charge of fraud which claims “his use of a nonprofit to funnel at least $140,000 in city of Atlanta funds to supplement his salary.”

In fact, Howard, who is under investigation for these charges by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), also just happens to be in charge of the Brooks shooting case. GBI has not finished investigating the shooting. So how can Howard charge Officer Rolfe with anything?

“The GBI was not aware of today’s press conference before it was conducted. We were not consulted on the charges filed by the District Attorney,” GBI posted on Facebook. “Despite today’s occurrence, the GBI will complete its mission of completing an impartial and thorough investigation of this incident and we will submit the file, once completed, to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.”

So, it’s no wonder that the Atlanta cops are walking out in protest.

“Swathes of police officers in Atlanta, GA, are ‘walking off the job,’ according to multiple reports published Wednesday evening,” Breitbart reports.

Todd Starnes tweeted, “BREAKING NEWS: Georgia police sources tell me only two police precincts are staffed in the entire city of Atlanta. Entire zones of officers are walking off the job. Zones 1,3,5 and 6 have left their posts. Zones walking off the job. #BlueLivesMatter.”

Atlanta’s CBS affiliate reported that it had confirmed the walkout through its own sources:

Several Atlanta Police officers have reportedly walked off the job at precincts across the city. The claim comes hours after charges were filed against ex officer Garrett Rolfe and Officer Devin Brosnan in the Rayshard Brooks’ case.

The buzz of patrol officers staging walkouts and refusing to answer calls from Precincts 3,5,6 and others began circulating social Wednesday evening. CBS46 confirmed the walkout through sources at 8:30 p.m.

It sure seems like the Atlanta DA knows he will not be around to try this case and is setting up his political rival for failure. After watching the 43-minute video of the two cops and Brooks’ encounter, there is no doubt the shooting was justifiable.

“Howard can present himself as the community hero today and force his successor into the role of legal villain. That scenario is exactly what this looks like,” Conservative Treehouse reports. “It is brutally obvious DA Paul Howard Jr. is setting a political trap for the next Fulton County District Attorney. The weird press conference and charges are ridiculous.”

“Regardless of internal Atlanta politics, the message to the police is chilling. I would not want to be living anywhere around Fulton County, Georgia; because I suspect there is going to be a massive drop in law enforcement,” CTH adds.

Crime will likely rise, violence will likely escalate, and the suffering community will be the same black neighborhoods that are praising DA Howard for bringing these trumped-up charges. They don’t realize that it is their own community that will find itself without adequate law enforcement.

No one on their right mind would choose to become an Atlanta police officer, now. Howard has made sure of that. Across the country, cops are being vilified. Unless something changes, crime will also escalate in every inner-city as cops leave the force, and those left will “slow roll” to radio calls like the one with Rayshard Brooks.
