Ilhan Omar admitted to fabricating a story on a purported “injustice” leveled by the police to a group of students just a few weeks ago, and now she is claiming “public safety is a human right” as she pushes for “stronger gun restrictions.” Well, that’s when she got a huge reality check. You’ll love this.
In case you missed it, Ilhan Omar was forced to admit she fabricated a story that she told a group of 400 high school students at Richfield High School in Minneapolis five years ago. It really highlighted the Minnesota Congresswoman’s hatred of the police and her overwhelming desire to paint our entire justice system as barbaric and racist.
Omar told the students she witnessed a “sweet, old … African American lady” in a courtroom who spent a weekend in jail for stealing a $2 loaf of bread to feed her hungry granddaughter.
She told them the woman was fined $80 – a fine she was incapable of paying. Omar told the students she “couldn’t control” her emotions because she “couldn’t understand how a roomful of educated adults could do something so unjust.” She claimed she shouted, “Bullsh*t!” in the courtroom.
The story was covered in an article from The Washington Post which was trying to paint Rep. Omar as a saintly figure. But when real journalists looked into her claim, it all fell apart. The Muslim Congresswoman story echoed the 1830s book Les Miserables, which is so popular it’s been made into countless movies over the years.
When the reporters confronted Omar about these details, she said she may have flubbed some facts. The woman convicted of the crime “might have had a prior [arrest],” Omar said. “I’m not sure. . . . The details might not have all matched, but that’s what I remember.”
Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway wrote, “So the Washington Post just all but called Ilhan Omar a lying liar who lies.”
Omar, who is willing to paint police officers as barbaric, is now claiming “public safety is a human right.” The anti-Trump Minnesotan is also pushing for severe gun legislation. The truth is Omar won’t be happy until all guns are banned in America.
“Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., called for stronger federal gun legislation Tuesday after three people were shot outside the gate of the closing night of the Minnesota State Fair on Monday,” NewsMax reports.
“A shopping center,” Omar said on Twitter. “A synagogue. A mosque. The best state fair. Public safety is a human right. We must keep pushing for stronger federal gun laws to make sure no one has to live in fear of gun violence in these places — or anywhere else.”
It sure is hypocritical to be so anti-cop and then demand public safety is a human right.

Americans gave Omar a reality check on her hypocritical anti-gun, public safety remarks.

It seems the left is now creating “human rights” out of whole cloth. Since when is “public safety” a human right? You have a right to self-defense. How can “public safety” be a right bestowed on us by God?
Well, Omar doesn’t think “human rights” come from God, they come from her god — government.
Omar wants the government to be in place of Almighty God in ensuring everyone gets free healthcare, free tuition, free housing, and free income. These radical leftist all think the government should ensure all these free things. It’s just another way of advocating for a 90 percent income tax rate.
Even with a 90 percent income tax rate, America would go bankrupt within 12 months if the government ensured all these new “human rights” that Omar and her buddies say are owed to everyone. Still, there is no way to ensure “public safety is a human right.” It has to be the most ignorant statement we have heard in a very long time, and that is really saying a lot with this bunch of loony tune leftists.
