Maxine Waters is finding out the hard way that when you are the head of the powerful House Committee on Financial Services, you better be careful of every word you say. Yesterday, GOP Rep. Sean Duffy brought an amendment to discuss the pros and cons of the Green New Deal. Well, that’s when the 80-year-old Congresswoman was caught admitting the Green New Deal was bullcrap. You don’t want to miss this.

Poor Maxine Waters. The elderly Chairwoman of the House Committee on Financial Services was in way over her head when Rep. Sean Duffy, a staunch Trump supporter, set a trap for the California Congresswoman. The GOP is hellbent on exposing the Green New Deal (GND) as an abomination that is not based in reality.

So how do they do that? Well, you get Rep. Duffy to call for an amendment in Waters’ committee that would lead to a discussion about the pros and cons of how the GND will impact middle-class homeowners.

“Duffy’s intention, instead, was to use the amendment to debate a key demand of the Green New Deal, which was introduced by New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in February. That bill, which is backed by some Democratic 2020 presidential candidates, included a call to retrofit every building to maximize energy efficiency,” the Daily Caller reported.

Duffy had to play the political game. His amendment would have changed the wording of one line of a financial services committee budget and views resolution to be in line with the Green New Deal’s call for “maximum energy efficiency” and “zero-emissions.”

Of course, Duffy is against his amendment because he is against the Green New Deal. But, it was the only way he could bait Maxine to tell the truth about the GND, and it worked.

“[W]e are dealing with a very real homeless crisis in this country, and this amendment is not taking it serious,” Waters said before asking her Democratic colleagues to vote “no” on Duffy’s amendment.

Is the gentle-lady chairwoman saying that the Green New Deal is not serious?” Duffy shot back.

“I beg your pardon,” Waters replied, visibly angered that someone dares challenge her.

Duffy responded: “You said this is not serious. Are you saying that the Green New Deal is not serious? I just want to make sure so I can get a gauge on that.”

“You are not serious,” Waters continued to claim, knowing she was caught calling an amendment based on the Green New Deal not serious.

To which Duffy again replied, “This is my amendment. Are you saying that my amendment isn’t serious?”

Once again, Waters admits she won’t consider what the Green New Deal says about making our homes more energy efficient, which is what Duffy was proposing in his amendment. If the GND is so spectacular, why not start implementing it? Mad Maxine can’t stand she’s been outplayed by Rep. Duffy.

In essence, Maxine is calling the Green New Deal bullcrap as she refuses to take Duffy’s proposal seriously which is based on the GND. The video is worth watching as Waters gets really heated as she realizes she fell for Duffy’s trap:

The core of the socialist legislation is to require the U.S. to eliminate “pollution and greenhouse gas emissions” and meet “100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” within 10 years.

The legislation calls for every single building in the United States to be “upgraded or replaced.” That means taxpayers will be stuck footing the bill for hundreds of millions of buildings in the country being upgraded or completely replaced.

It seems as if every time someone does a study on the cost of the Green New deal, it gets worse each time. One of the first studies found that the measure would cost an estimated $7 trillion. Another study found that it could be closer to $50 trillion, with a third study finding that it could actually be around $93 trillion.

The Democrats who are playing games backing the Green New Deal should be shamed and called out as Rep. Duffy did to Mad Maxine. We are hoping to see more Democrats put on the hot seat over the Green New Deal. It’s the only way to expose just how ridiculous the Democrats have become trying to placate the crazies who think the world is going to end in 12 years.
