Vice-President Mike Pence taught Kamala Harris a masterclass in how to debate on Wednesday night. In fact, Pence trounced the Democrat candidate so badly she had to resort to “twisting the truth” about President Abraham Lincoln. We bet ole “honest Abe” was rolling over in his grave. You don’t want to miss this.
There was one of those moments in last night debate when it was evident Kamala Harris thought she had a hand of aces. Harris smirked when Mike Pence made a passionate plea for the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, based on precedent. Pence argued that it was a historical fact that presidents do nominate during election years.
“There have been 29 vacancies on the Supreme Court during presidential election years from George Washington to Barack Obama, and the presidents have nominated in all 29 cases,” Pence said.
Kamala Harris had a pre-planned comeback. The only problem is it was a huge lie.
“I’m so glad we went through a little history lesson. Let’s do that a little more,” Harris responded with arrogance. “In 1864 … Abraham Lincoln was up for reelection. And it was 27 days before the election. And a seat became open on the United States Supreme Court.”
“Abraham Lincoln’s party was in charge not only of the White House but the Senate,” Harris added. “But Honest Abe said, ‘It’s not the right thing to do. The American people deserve to make the decision about who will be the next president of the United States, and then that person will be able to select who will serve on the highest court of the land.’”
So, is that the truth? Nope. Kamala and her Democrat debate handlers decided to lie to the American people and “twist the truth.”
Even the anti-Trump Washington Post had to fact-check Harris and admitted: “Kamala Harris’s ‘little history lesson’ about Lincoln’s Supreme Court vacancy wasn’t exactly true.”
As Dan McLaughlin of National Review noted, President Abraham Lincoln never said anything like what Harris said he did. He delayed sending a nominee to the Senate because it was out of session. McLaughlin wrote:
Lincoln, of course, said no such thing. He sent no nominee to the Senate in October 1864 because the Senate was out of session until December. He sent a nominee the day after the session began, and Salmon P. Chase was confirmed the same day. And Lincoln wanted to dangle the nomination before Chase and several other potential candidates because he wanted them to campaign for him. Lincoln’s priority was winning the election, which was necessary to win the war — and he filled the vacancy at the first possible instant.
Kamala Harris is simply inventing history.
The other glaring issue Kamala refused to answer should make all Americans extremely wary of a Biden/Harris administration.
“But your party is actually openly advocating adding seats to the Supreme Court, which has had nine seats for 150 years if you don’t get your way,” Pence added.
That’s when Kamala launched into her pre-planned statement saying, “I’m so glad we went through a little history lesson,” then she proceeded to tell the American people that lie about Honest Abe.
Pence attempted to interrupt her “Honest Abe” diatribe:
“Now you have refused to answer the question, Joe Biden has refused to answer the question, so I think the American people would really like to know. If Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States, are you and Joe Biden — if somehow you win this election — going to pack the Supreme Court to get your way?” Pence asked.
Social media erupted with instant fact-checking of Kamala.
“This Kamala Harris ‘history lesson’ is bullsh*t,” reporter Virginia Kruta posted. “Lincoln did not make a nomination because the Senate was not in session and he was leveraging his pick to win the election. Once the Senate returned, Salmon P. Chase was nominated — and confirmed — *that very day.*”
She added the video of Kamala Harris “twisting the truth” and Pence’s reaction:
This Kamala Harris "history lesson" is bullshit.
Lincoln did not make a nomination because the Senate was not in session and he was leveraging his pick to win the election.
Once the Senate returned, Salmon P. Chase was nominated — and confirmed — *that very day.* #VPDebate https://t.co/mraw7TMKcG

The blatant “honest Abe” lie could not be ignored by the leftwing media.
“There is no evidence [Lincoln] thought the seat should be filled by the winner of the election. In fact, he had other motives for the delay,” Washington Post adds. “If he had lost the election, there is no evidence he wouldn’t have filled the spot in the lame-duck session.”
Mike Pence exposed the Biden campaign. Harris couldn’t prove that a Biden/Harris administration would lower Americans’ taxes or make our lives better in any way. In fact, Pence pounced on Harris when she attempted to claim Biden’s tax plan would not affect middle-class Americans at all.
Pence pointed out that Biden has said on many occasions he would on “day one” roll back the Trump tax cuts that give middle-class Americans $4,000 dollars of tax credits.
“Pence schooled Harris on issues ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to packing the Supreme Court to the Green New Deal and from China to the riots to the false ‘white supremacy’ attacks on Trump,” PJ Media reports.
The talking heads on CNN and MSNBC knew Kamala Harris got her clocked cleaned. Mike Pence had the truth and the great record of the Trump administration on his side, and that was evident to everyone who watched the “massacre of Harris” on Wednesday night.
