Schiff Panics, Shifts Impeachment To ‘Bribery & Extortion’ – Nunes Destroys Him

Adam Schiff is panicking. The initial charge the Democrats claimed was the impeachable offenses was the “quid pro quo.” Now, only hours before the open impeachment hearings begin, Schiff found out that wasn’t working with the American people and changed the charges to “bribery and extortion.” Well, that’s when Rep. Devin Nunes utterly destroyed Schiff and his new scheme. You’ll love this.

Ahead of public impeachment hearings, Democrats are shifting their rhetoric from accusing President Trump of a “quid pro quo” to “bribery” or “extortion,” believing that the stronger and simpler words will play better with the American people.

This is preposterous. Schiff and his anti-Trump attorneys are worried about what “plays better” when attempting to impeach a duly elected president.

Under orders from Shifty Schiff, the Democrats rolled out this new scheme on the Sunday talk shows. The Democrats’ methods are so predictable. Who can forget Susan Rice rolling out the bogus Benghazi alibi for the Obama administration on the Sunday talk shows back in 2012.

This time Schiff sent out Democrat surrogates Reps. Eric Swalwell, Jackie Spier, and Jim Hines who all mimicked the same talking points.

“We have enough evidence from the depositions that we’ve done to warrant bringing this forward, evidence of an extortion scheme, using taxpayer dollars to ask a foreign government to investigate the president’s opponent,” Swalwell said on CBS News’s Face the Nation.

“Because you have an elected official, the president, demanding action of a foreign country in this case, and providing something of value, which is the investigation, and he is withholding aid, which is that official act,” Rep. Spier said on ABC News’s This Week.

“And the Constitution is very clear: treason, bribery, or acts of omission. In this case, it’s clearly one of those,” she said.

“I have two problems with quid pro quo,” Rep. Jim Hines said on NBC News’s Meet the Press. “Number one, when you’re trying to persuade the American people of something that is really pretty simple, which is that the president acted criminally and extorted in the way a mob boss would extort somebody, a vulnerable foreign country, it’s probably best not to use Latin words to explain it.”

That’s right. We the People with our God and guns are too stupid to understand big Latin phrases. Rep. Hines reminds us just how condescending the Democrats are when it comes to the Deplorables. They view Trump supporters as ignorant hicks who lack any real education. Hines then plays to the patriotism of Trump supporters.

“What they’re going to hear is they are going to hear immensely patriotic, beautifully articulate people telling a story of a president who — let’s forget quid pro quo, quid pro quo is one of these things to muddy the works — who extorted a vulnerable country by holding up a military aid,” Hines concludes.

Right. For those of us who have read the actual transcripts from the star chamber hearings, all of the witnesses bombed. That is why Schiff is panicking and at the last minute changing his game plan.

Schiff’s Republican counterpart on the House Intel Committee is Rep. Devin Nunes. Schiff took over the chairmanship from Nunes after the Democrats won the midterm. Now, Nunes is bringing actual order and real evidence, destroying Schiff’s last-minute game plan.

As the House Intel Ranking Member, Devin Nunes, along with real patriots like Rep. Mark Meadows and Rep. Daniel Ratcliffe, are the heavy-weights who knocked out Schiff’s star witnesses on the stand.

Now, Nunes and his GOP colleagues released an 18-page memorandum Monday night outlining their case, based on evidence, against impeaching the president.

“Four key pieces of evidence are fatal to the Democrats’ allegations,” the memo states. “Stripping away the hyperbole and hysteria, these indisputable pieces of evidence show that there was no, ‘Treason, Bribery, or other high crimes and Misdemeanors,’ as required by the U.S. Constitution.”

  • The July 25 summary—the best evidence of the conversation—between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky “shows no conditionality or evidence of pressure.”
  • Both Zelensky and Trump have said there was no pressure on the call.
  • The Ukraine government was not aware of a hold on U.S. security assistance at the time of the July 25 call.
  • Trump met with Zelensky, although not in the Oval Office, and U.S. security assistance flowed to Ukraine in September 2019 — both of which occurred without Ukraine investigating Trump’s political rivals.

“Democrats want to impeach President Trump because unelected and anonymous bureaucrats disagreed with the President’s decisions and were discomforted by his telephone conversation with President Zelensky,” the GOP memo adds. “The Democrats’ impeachment narrative fips our system of government on its head. The federal bureaucracy works for the President. The President works for the American people. And President Trump is doing what Americans elected him to do.”

While viewing the open hearings, Americans need to keep that last paragraph in mind from the GOP memo. It goes to the main issue every Democrat witness has testified to during the secret hearings.

These witnesses are all Never Trumpers who either were Obama holdovers or who kept their anti-Trump views to themselves to get hired by the Trump administration. They are all disgruntled unelected bureaucrats who thought they knew better than President Trump when it came to Ukraine’s foreign policy. All are avowed globalists.

Just like Rep. Hines thinks Trump supporters are too stupid to understand what a “quid pro quo” means, these witnesses all thought President Trump was too stupid to make foreign policy decisions. That’s what this is all about.

Their testimony is nothing but a bunch of globalists complaining the new boss is getting in their way and must be stopped.

It doesn’t matter what a bunch of unelected State Department officials think about the president’s handling of Ukraine. You’ll hear them testify about conversations they had with each other about Ukraine, while not one witness spoke to Trump. The Democrats’ “so-called evidence” is these water cooler gossip sessions between the witnesses where they “felt” Trump had done something wrong based on their globalist views.

It all comes down to the powerful statement in the GOP memo: “The Democrats’ impeachment narrative fips our system of government on its head. The federal bureaucracy works for the President. The President works for the American people. And President Trump is doing what Americans elected him to do.”

This was just another bogus coup attempt by the same deep state operatives. It’s time they were all put on notice. Americans don’t care about your whining or feelings or your globalist views.

Elections have consequences, and the president has the sole power to set our foreign policy. Nothing those Never Trumpers will testify to about Trump or our foreign policy means a damn thing.

Their personal opinions don’t matter as no one elected them. Trump can’t be impeached based on a bunch of Never Trumper’s opinions of what they believe motivated the president in that July 25 phone call. They can’t read Trump’s mind, and in the end, the president did nothing impeachable or criminal. But they will go down in history as a bunch of State Department leakers who were motivated by Trump Derangement Syndrome to flush their careers down the toilet.
