Then, just days later, a damning picture from 2009 resurfaced.
Earlier this week, Taylor Swift formally endorsed Democratic candidate Phil Bredesen over Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn in the upcoming midterm Senate election in her home state of Tennessee, describing herself as “appalled” and “terrified” by Blackburn’s policies. In a long Instagram post, the 28-year-old singer said that certain events in her life had led her to reveal her own political leanings, such as her belief that “systematic racism” in America remains “terrifying, sickening, and prevalent.”
“I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee,” Swift wrote. “In the past, I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now.”
“I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country,” the Grammy-winner continued. “I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.”
According to Breitbart, the “Shake it Off” singer went on to blast Blackburn’s character and voting record, accusing her of being unwilling to fight for the “dignity” of all Americans, while also inferring she is anti-gay, anti-women, and anti-people of color. “I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love,” she wrote. “Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn.”
For all Swift’s talk of “systemic racism,” however, it wasn’t very long ago that she was partying with Nazis. A damning photo taken in 2009 has resurfaced in the wake of the singer’s political activism. It shows Swift posing with another partygoer at Katy Perry’s 25th birthday bash. Her male companion is proudly wearing a white shirt with a bright red swastika painted on it.
The alarming photo was sent to prominent gay conservative Milo Yiannopoulos and exposed via his website:
A scandalous, barely-acknowledged photo depicting pop megastar Taylor Swift and a man wearing a giant red swastika has re-emerged. Celebrity drag queen James Davis, star of The Real Housewives of Miami and better known by his stage name Elaine Lancaster, sent the photo to DANGEROUS unaware that it had been briefly reported on in 2009. Davis claims Swift had originally shared the photo on her now defunct MySpace page. DANGEROUS was unable to verify if the photo had ever been posted to Swift’s old MySpace page.
“I could swear I remember the caption saying that guy [in the swastika shirt] was her date to the party, but I can’t be certain,” Davis says.
The photo was taken in 2009, at Katy Perry’s 25th birthday party. Swift and the man are embracing one another, with arms entwined and bodies tilted toward each other. The party, as reported by The Mirror and The Daily Beast at the time, was Willy-Wonka themed. There were 15 Oompa Loompas walking around with buckets of paint. Attendees were instructed to show up wearing all white before splattering themselves in paint. The man posing with Swift has a large red swastika painted over a black swastika on his chest. The first photo of Swift and the “Nazi guy” was not a one-off. In another picture, the pair is dancing closely.
Apparently, Taylor Swift is just a flaming hypocrite. No wonder she’s voting Democrat — she’ll fit right in with all of the other liberals who oppose gun rights while hiring armed security and champion women’s rights while defending mothers who have murdered millions of their unborn daughters.
