MAGA Hat & Legally Owned Guns In Her Apartment, Roommates Have Sick Reaction

A grad student was in for a nasty surprise when her roommates found out she not only had a MAGA hat but legally owned guns in her apartment. To say they had a sick reaction is a bit of an understatement.

The real purpose of gun control is not to prevent crime or save lives, but rather to control people. These laws only target the rights of law-abiding gun owners and do nothing to address the criminals who do all of the damage.

Liberals go into hysterics over legal gun ownership, and proving just that is what happened to a Harvard grad student, who was essentially evicted from her apartment because she had the audacity to exercise her 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Leyla Pirnie is a grad student at Harvard University. Originally from Alabama, she shared an off-campus apartment with several other students since September. Leyla has conservative views, but she said she kept those to herself because, obviously, most snowflakes at the super-liberal university would melt at the thought of being in close proximity to someone who thinks differently than them.

Everything was fine until Leyla’s roommates noticed that she had a Trump “Make America Great Again” hat in her room. When Leyla was out, her roommates searched her room and discovered that she also had some legally owned firearms.

It shouldn’t have been a big deal, but it was, and The Washington Free Beacon explains what ensued:

A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable.

“A few weeks ago, I came back to my apartment from a weekend trip and was confronted by one of my roommates who asked if I had guns in the house. After being told far too many lies to count, my roommates finally admitted that they searched my closet, under my bed, and all of my drawers in pursuit of finding my guns,” said Leyla.

And, the reason for the search was a hyperventilating liberal panic. “When I asked them why they were in my room, to begin with, they each came up with completely contradicting stories (none of which made any sense), but one comment struck me in particular: ‘We saw that you had a MAGA hat and come on, you’re from Alabama… so we just kind of assumed that you had something,'” Leyla recalled.

Leyla’s roommates went to the landlord, Dave Lewis, and asked if he would evict her over the guns. Lewis contacted the police to investigate Leyla’s “shocking” legal gun ownership. Leyla actually let the cops inspect her firearms, and it was determined that all of her guns were in compliance with local and state law. These are legal firearms, owned by someone who is trained to use and handle them safely.

None of this mattered to Leyla’s roommates, who were seemingly scared that the guns “might go off on their own,” so they asked the landlord to kick the law-abiding gun owner out on her ass.

“We discussed with Leyla that all of us are uncomfortable with having firearms in the house and that their presence causes anxiety and deprives us of the quiet enjoyment of the premise to which we are entitled,” the roommates wrote to the landlord.

Lewis offered to let Leyla stay if she was willing to give up her guns, but she refused. “Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” Lewis said in an email.

Leyla hasn’t technically been evicted, but it’s either she goes or the roommates do. If the roommates move out, she would be responsible for the entire $6,000 a month rent, which she can’t afford so it’s a de facto eviction. Surely, if Leyla defended the apartment against a violent attacker, her roommates would change their minds on guns, but since that hasn’t happened, she has to go.

This shameless episode is representative of the left’s hysteria over lawful gun ownership. It’s never about stopping crime or making people safer, just denying the rights that liberals don’t like. There can never be a conversation with the left on gun control because they refuse to understand that good guys and gals with guns are a solution, not a problem.
