AOC: GOP ‘Scared’ of ‘Powerful’ Squad – Former ICE Director Gives Smackdown

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is feeling invincible. The 29-year-old former bartender claims the GOP is scared of the four “Squad” members. “They’re scared because sometimes I think that the Republican Party recognizes our power more than we do sometimes.” AOC is really confused about her so-called power. That’s why the former ICE Director stepped in and gave her a proper smackdown she won’t forget. You’ll love this.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s blatant immaturity and arrogance have led the former bartender to believe she and her fellow “Squad” members are very powerful people in Congress. Her sheer ignorance of politics is astounding. AOC sounded off at the NAACP event Wednesday morning where she declared that members of the Republican Party are “scared” of them “because they know how powerful” they are.

Ocasio-Cortez talked about her background as a “bartender-waitress” and told the moderator, Angela Rye, that she does not “shy away” from her background of working in restaurants because it prepared her for her current job as a congresswoman.

“Nothing will give you the ferocity of advocacy like having that kind of experience,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“No one can tell me about things like sexual harassment. No one can tell me things like working for tips on a wage that is less than the minimum wage. No one can tell me about taking the subway at 3 o’clock in the morning home from a night shift,” she said, claiming that “no one else has those experiences on the other side of the aisle.”

Oh, really? Does AOC assume there are no GOP members of Congress who have ever held real jobs?

Well, what about GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who grew up in a middle-class suburb in Illinois. His mom was an elementary school teacher, and he joined the military in 2003. Or how about GOP Senator Martha McSally whose father died when she was twelve and her mother was left to support five kids. McSally joined the military right out of high school.

These are the types of ignorant statements from a 29-year-old who is in way over her head as a Congresswoman.

AOC then added that the Republican Party is “scared” of the “Squad.”

“It’s because they’re scared because sometimes I think that the Republican Party recognizes our power more than we do sometimes,” she said. “Because there is a reason we are on Fox News 24/7 while every pundit – while they’re sending mailers with our face on it – because they know how powerful we are more than sometimes our own – frankly I think – our own party does,” she added.

Well, Wednesday afternoon, AOC got her clock cleaned by the former ICE Director who must have missed the memo about the New York Congresswoman’s powerfulness.

The interaction occurred at the end of his testimony before the House Oversight Committee. AOC was chairing the committee and she used her “power” to threaten that she would make sure ICE was abolished.

That’s when Homan lost his patience with AOC.

“I am proud of the agency and ICE and what we don’t want to talk about is nearly 90 percent of everybody ICE arrested for immigration violations either have a criminal history or a pending criminal charges when they are found meaning they were found in a county jail which most likely means they are more than a choir boy,” said Homan.

“So to miss message what the work the men and women of ICE do is, I find appalling that a member of Congress would throw that out there like that,” he added.

Ocasio-Cortez interrupted Homan and attempted to cut short his testimony, but he ignored her and continued.

“In my 34 years I have never seen such hate toward law enforcement agency in my life that you want to abolish them rather than do your job and legislate,” he added.

“Mr. Homan your time is expired,” she said.

“If you don’t like it, legislate!” he concluded.

AOC is so confused. The GOP, President Donald Trump, and Fox News love to talk about the squad because the majority of Americans see them as utter buffoons who are toxic to this country.

“The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four ‘progressives,’ but now they are forced to embrace them,” tweeted Trump in July. “That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!”

Making the “Squad” the face of the Democrats is a political strategy which AOC fails to grasp.

Politics is a blood sport where your opponents will hone in on any weak links and highlight them to your detriment. AOC and her fellow “Squad” members are the weak links in the Democratic Party. The squad is helping the GOP and President Trump every time they open their mouths.

That’s their “power.”

But hey, don’t tell them that. The GOP and President Trump are delighted AOC and her goon squad is so full of themselves using all their power to make American voters cringe at their wacko far-left and anti-American antics. They singlehandedly are driving voters to turn away from the Democrats and embrace the GOP and Trump in 2020.
