Michelle: Don’t View Impeachment As ‘Democrats vs. Republicans’ – Gets Reality Check

Michelle Obama weighed in on the impeachment process claiming it is not something that Americans should view as “the Democrats versus the Republicans.” She also said that the impeachment hearings were “surreal” and that we owed it to the younger generations to “get it right.” Well, that’s when Americans gave her a big reality check. Don’t miss this.

What does Michelle Obama have to say about impeachment? Truly, most of us couldn’t care less, but the former first lady was trying to stay diplomatic as she granted an interview to Jenna Bush Hager for NBC.

The daughter of former President George W. Bush asked Obama whether the country can come back from the divisive situation unfolding in Washington, D.C., as polls show Americans largely split along party lines on impeachment.

“It’s surreal, I think,” said Obama, speaking from Vietnam, where she is on a trip. “I don’t think people know what to make of it. But do I think we can come back from it? Oh yeah.”

“We’ve seen tough times in this country. You know we’ve gone through depressions and wars and bombings and terrorist attacks, and we’ve gone through Jim Crow, and we’ve always come out stronger. And that’s what we have to continue to believe because what’s our choice? To ball up in a corner and call it a day?” Michelle added.

Michelle then talked about “getting the outcome of the impeachment process right.”

“Well, that’s not fair to this next generation that’s coming before us that are counting on us to get this right,” Michelle said. “It’s not an ‘us or them,’ it’s not an ‘R or a D’ [Republican or Democrat thing].”

Those of us in the “silent majority” would beg to differ. This impeachment process is clearly a Democrats versus Republican thing. In fact, it’s so partisan, and that what makes this impeachment such a farce. The Democrats refuse to follow past impeachment proceedings and changed the rules to make it all one-sided.

Americans also weighed in on social media to give the former first lady a big reality check.

@MichelleObama Just how surreal is the impeachment. It’s clearly based on conjecture and hate for a man that the PEOPLE voted for. It’s a coup dreamed up by the Dems against the People’s choice on who they voted into office!” tweeted “Kricket.”

“Oh hell no, the ‘division’ will become the great divide! I will never vote for or trust another Democrat for the rest of my life!” tweeted Dorothy Adams.

Michelle Obama speaks out on impeachment proceedings: ‘It’s surreal’ @TODAY show. What is surreal is U & your man-child hubby, one who couldn’t pay back the student loan until recently, got filthy rich sitting in the oval office doing nothing for the Black community. SHAME,” tweeted John Ronzani.

“Michelle Obama speaks out on impeachment proceedings. She is the one who widely abused taxpayer’s money with her lavish family vacations including mama Robinson who also was lavishly paid for babysitting her adult granddaughters. Shame on you, the family of Robinson-Soetoro,” tweeted “IK.”

“No, Michelle. It should have been Obama’s impeachment who during his 8 years in the WH had done what Dems are accusing Pres Trump of doing, committing an impeachable offense,” tweeted Kayla.

“Amazing: Michael, I mean Michelle, Obama and her grossly incompetent husband did more to sow divisiveness in this country than any other president in modern history. So why in the hell does anybody give a sh*t what she thinks. (Rhetorical, is course),” tweeted Twitter user “Lorenzo.”

“Michelle Obama speaks out on impeachment proceedings. You want to know what is surreal – the fact that your hubby isn’t in jail,” tweeted “Southern Living RN.”

Based on the Democrats’ impeachment process, if Barack Obama was still president the GOP could bring him up on so many charges. The reason the Republicans did not seriously consider impeaching the former president was because of the message it sends.

Impeachment nullifies the past election. It nullifies millions of votes. Our entire Republic is built on free and fair elections and when one party believes it must take this drastic course, there better be some pretty clear crimes.

And even then, it’s not always the best thing to do. The impeachment of Bill Clinton backfired on the GOP. There were clear crimes of lying under oath and obstruction of justice, but in the end, most Americans found it as just a personal case of infidelity.

Of course, Clinton alleged rape victim Juanita Broaddrick was kept under wraps by the mainstream media. The point is impeachment hurts the country and is always a “lose-lose,” and Michelle Obama sounds like an utter fool when she claims the impeachment of Donald Trump is not a “Democrat versus Republican” thing.
